Restaurant patrons this month can help improve restaurants on the island by voting for their favourite restaurants in the Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta and Gozo Annual Restaurant Survey.

Participation is either online at www.restaurantmalta.com or on the hard copy version included in today's edition of The Times.

Out of the 1,000-plus restaurants, the top survey-rated 150 will be included in the guide.

By voting in the survey one will help to create Malta's number one authoritative and objective restaurant guide, sponsored by the Malta Tourism Authority, HSBC and Marsovin.

"Throughout the year we receive many complaints about restaurants - everyone has a bad restaurant experience to report. This annual survey gives food lovers the chance to do something about it by voting for their favourite restaurants and sending in comments about their experiences over the last year," Guide editor Lisa Grech said of the restaurant survey.

"The input by patrons will help improve standards as the results of the survey published in the guide are designed to promote only the well-rated restaurants. Furthermore, one's vote will influence which restaurants will receive the prestigious restaurants awards at the annual gala dinner on December 8."

As in previous years there are prizes to be won including a weekend break for two on a bed and breakfast basis in a Zenith Suite Seaview room at the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa; a weekend break for two on a bed and breakfast basis at the InterContinental Malta; a Red October Ltd hamper consisting of fine wines and confectionery worth €81.50 and four bottles of Marsovin varietal Caravaggio wine.

The Definitive(ly) Good Guide Restaurant Survey asks eaters-out to rate all the restaurants they have frequented in the last 12 months on a scale of 1-10 for food, service and ambience. It invites people to answer additional questions including what one thinks is the best Maltese restaurant; best restaurant for business entertainment; best value-for-money restaurant; most romantic restaurant; most child-friendly restaurant and the best restaurant restroom, as well as your favourite wine lists. It also invites more general comment.

Anyone wishing to receive the survey can forward their name and address to info@restaurantsmalta.com or call 2180 2383.
