Hotels and other tourist accommodation reported a 0.2 per cent increase in bookings in September, but the time spent on the island dropped compared to figures of the same month last year.

The National Statistics Office said total arrivals numbered 156,826, while total nights spent amounted to 914,552. Five-star and four-star hotel categories registered decreases in total nights spent, with increases being recorded in the other categories.
