Victoria and David Beckham and their three young sons have been named the "best representation" of the modern family in a new survey.

The A-listers polled 29 per cent of the vote as best representing the modern family - beating Homer, Bart and the other Simpsons to the title by just one per cent.

The online poll showed actress Kate Winslet and Big Brother host Davina McCall as the top role models as mothers with 38 per cent and 33 per cent of the vote respectively.

Former glamour model Katie Price secured only two per cent of the vote, alongside model Kate Moss and former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona.

Katie's ex-husband Peter Andre was voted best role model as a father at 29.1 per cent, fighting off competition from Becks, who polled 20.9 per cent, and Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt at 16.2 per cent.

The findings from a poll of 3,000 UK adults carried out last month were released by Sky1 to mark the launch of the US sitcom Modern Family, which started on Sky1 and Sky1 HD yesterday.
