Police in eastern Russia shot dead a brown bear which had found its way into a shopping mall.

Security footage from the mall in Khabarovsk town shows the bear running around in corridors, trying to break through the doors, and eventually running out.

Scared staff called the police, who cornered the animal at a nearby kindergarten, and shot it dead.

It was not immediately known how the bear entered the mall.
