Antoinette's Hili's Basset hound, Ch. & Eng. Ch. Switherland Sensation At Haven, became the first dog from Malta to win Best of Breed at Crufts, which took place in Birmingham between March 4-7.

Angus, as the dog is more known locally, is the top winning dog ever in Malta, and won 13 Best In Shows locally. Last year, its owner decided to campaign it in England, where it quickly gained its Champion title. They have decided to retire him in Malta after the 2004 Crufts dog show.

At Crufts, he was one of 155 Bassets competing. Angus was handled in the ring by Adrian Hili.

Crufts Dog Show, organised by the Kennel Club of England, is the most prestigious dog show in the world. This year's show, the 101st, hosted 21,622 top pedigree dogs in over 2,000 individual classes. It was broadcast on television in 49 countries. Over 120,000 dog lovers visited the show.

A small contingent from the Maltese National Canine Federation travelled to England to support Angus and Shawn Camilleri, who represented Malta in the International Junior Handler Competition at the show, an event that Malta won in 2000 and 2003.
