Following the cancellation of yesterday’s stage of 2018 The Cyclist Tour ta’ Malta due to bad weather, Baldassare Barbera of Team Grasso Villanti Spagnolo was confirmed as winner of the Tour’s 24th edition with a time of 4:19:37.23. The Italian placed ahead of Velo Runner’s Will Corden (4:26:37.42) and Josh Housley of TBW Bottecchia Wigmore RT (4:28:03.80). Christian Formosa, rider of The Cyclist, was the best-placed Maltese in a time of 4:29:56.70.

Contour Cycles RT’s Dave Mitchinson claimed the Masters Category in a time of 3:06:09.16 followed by Andrew Hicklin of Peak Road Club (3:06:25.52) and Team Grasso Villanti Spagnolo’s Filippo Porpora (3:06:26.54), with Michael Camilleri of Pro Action Volata Cycling Team placing as the first Maltese (3:06:45.05).

Meanwhile, Mathilde Pauls of Great Britain, rider of TW 1 Racing, won the women’s category after registering a time of 3:17:31.78, followed by Malta’s Marie Claire Aquilina of Team Greens (3:17:31.78) and Paul’s team mate Gabriella Nordin (3:19:48.90).
