The minimum age for the consumption of alcohol in bars has been raised by one year to 17.

Five legal notices published last Friday by the government amended various regulations related to alcohol, tobacco and shops licensed to sell alcohol.

Under the amendments the sale of tobacco and alcohol to people under 17 was also banned.
