A group of HSBC Bank employees pushed themselves to the limit when they ran, swam and cycled for 47 kilometres across Malta, Gozo and Comino in aid of charity on Sunday.

After months of training, the 25 employees set off on the triathlon in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.

The team first challenged themselves to a 12-kilometre run from Għarb to Ħondoq Ir-Rummien in Gozo at 7 a.m. This was followed by a five-kilometre swim from the Blue Lagoon in Comino to Ċirkewwa in Malta.

Once they reached the shore they cycled for 30 kilometres to San Anton Gardens, the residence of President George Abela, who is the patron of the charity.

The bank will continue raising funds throughout the year and hand over the money to the MCCF during L-Istrina, the annual fund-raising event held in December.
