A number of HSBC bank customers in Malta are receiving hoax e-mails and telephone calls, the bank said yesterday.

Customers are being e-mailed and called by someone pretending to be from the bank asking them to give personal security details and information related to their bank accounts.

E-banking users are reminded to never give out personal internet or telephone banking user identification or passwords.

Customers are asked to report any such cases to HSBC and to forward e-mails to infomalta@ hsbc.com. Alternatively, one may also contact Customer Service on 2380 2380.
