Staff members from HSBC Malta’s Birżebbuġa branch carried out cleaning works at the Enrichetta Family Centre. Another group of employees organised a clean-up on the hill facing Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, which is home to 14 statues representing the Via Crucis.

Seven volunteers cleaned Fra Diegu Home’s summer residence in Xemxija, enabling the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart to move children there for the summer months. Another team of volunteers organised a dog walk in support of The Island Sanctuary in Marsaxlokk. Twenty-seven members of staff also carried out maintenance works at Xrobb l-Għagin Nature Park.

In Marsascala, staff from the five community support teams of HSBC sweated it out at Dar Frate Jacoba, a home for disadvantaged children, and cleared out on-site rubble, pruned the gardens and cooked traditional delicacies. Volunteers also produced 50 cloth bags, which were used to raise funds.

A donation of tins of preserved food was made to the Sisters of Mother Teresa in Cospicua.

In a blood donation drive, HSBC volunteers donated 15 blood bags to mark the bank’s 15th anniversary in Malta. Volunteers hope to collect 150 bags of blood by the end of the year to mark HSBC Group’s 150th anniversary.
