Mediterranean Bank recently presented Victor Calvagna and Lyndon Hedley Coates, representatives of Puttinu Cares and Malta Heart Foundation respectively, with the proceeds of the bank’s end of year fundraising campaign.

During the presentation, which took place at the Bank’s head office at St Barbara Bastions, Valletta, Dr Calvagna and Dr Hedley Coates thanked the bank for its assistance.

Dr Calvagna explained that Puttinu Cares is in the process of developing a large property in Sutton which will be tailored to the needs of Maltese cancer patients receiving treatment in London. The entire project is expected to cost around €2.2million and this donation would be added to the funds for this cause. The Bank also financed the gifts given to young cancer patients during their Christmas party.

Thanking the bank for their support, Dr Hedley Coates announced that the sum donated, together with other corporate and private sponsorships, were enough to purchase an aortic balloon pump, costing €45,000, to be used at Mater Dei Hospital.
