A 79-year-old woman yesterday became the victim of a break-in for the third time.
Hooded men burst into her house in Idmejda Street, Balzan at 7 a.m. and tied her to a chair before they made off with a measly €260, police sources said.
The elderly woman was tied lightly and this allowed her to move around, enough to push herself and the chair next to a telephone from where she called for help. She was suffering from shock.
The sources could not specify whether the men were armed.
Magistrate Edwina Grima was informed of the case and appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.
