The four-star Balkan Jewel Resort in Razlog, Bulgaria, a multi-million euro holiday resort built by Dhalia Group, has hosted the first Retro Countries Rally in the Balkans.

Around 60 rare, luxurious retro automobiles from four countries, including Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Mercedes, Jaguar, Lincoln, Autobianchi, Renault and Austin models took part in a three-day rally across the stunning scenery of Bulgaria.

The last day of the rally was dedicated to a photo session and a golf contest at the Pirin Golf & Country Club adjacent to the Balkan Jewel Resort. The event came to an end with the award ceremony. The guest of honour was automobile legend Illia Chubrikos.

Balkan Jewel Resort director Christopher Grech was presented with a trophy for the excellent cooperation and the high level of hospitality shown to participants. Mr Grech said the resort was becoming increasingly popular with Greek, Russian and German holiday-makers and tour operators.

Located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, the resort consists of 160 furnished, luxury self-catering apartments, a fitness centre and spa, outdoor pool, conference facilities, a restaurant and mini-market.

Besides Dhalia Group, 70 individual Maltese investors have acquired apartments at the resort and enjoy a guaranteed annual return of seven per cent from the income generated from the resort besides two weeks’ accommodation at their property.
