Six Mosta supporters, aged between 17 and 22, were charged with going to the Naxxar square and shouting out threats and breaching the peace to provoke a fight after their team won a football match against the Naxxar Lions.

One of the Mosta FC supporters, aged 17, was also charged with slightly injuring a Naxxar supporter in Toni Bajada Square on September 28.

The young men were Nathaniel Vella, 22, and his 19-year-old brother Josiah, from St Paul's Bay, Wayne Debono, 20, Jean Paul Spiteri, 19, and two 17 year olds from Mosta. The names of the 17-year-olds are not being published because they are minors.

They pleaded not guilty and were granted bail against no conditions. If any one of them does something wrong in the meantime they will be rearrested, the magistrate warned them.

Lawyer Martin Fenech represented the accused while Police Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted.
