A man who had threatened to kill a court expert, now a judge, was this morning granted bail pending appeal.

George Azzopardi, who had been found guilty of threatening Judge Joseph Zammit McKeon in anonymous letters 10 years ago, was jailed for two months last week.

Mr Azzopardi immediately appealed but was remanded in custody.

Mr Justice Michael Mallia this morning granted him bail against a deposit of €1,000 and a personal guarantee of €3,000.
