Two young men yesterday pleaded guilty to stealing a woman's handbag off a bench and then slightly injuring her as she tried to take it back.

Romario Muscat, 18 and Nicholas Abdilla, 20 both admitted to taking the handbag on Saturday at around 6 p.m. and slightly injuring the woman.

Mr Muscat also admitted to carrying a knife without a licence.

Magistrate Miriam Hayman remanded the two men in custody pending sentencing tomorrow.

Police Inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted.

Lawyer Steve Tonna Lowell appeared for Mr Muscat while lawyer Kris Busietta appeared for Mr Abdilla.
