A man who on Sunday was taken to court and accused of threatening his former partner and their daughter and being in possession of a pistol and silencer, was back in court today, accused of breaking bail conditions.

Denis Xuereb, 51 of Swieqi was today accused of having breached the conditions of his bail after having been ordered by a court not to speak to his daughter.

Mr Xuereb broke down crying during the arraignment and was heard sobbing loudly. His former partner was also seen crying. His lawyer asked for his client to be treated at Mr Carmel Hospital.

Mr Xuereb allegedly contacted, harassed and threatened his daughter yesterday.

He did not request bail and will be kept at Mt Carmel Hospital for two months.

On leaving the courtroom Mr Xuereb approached his former partner and daughter, hugged and kissed them.
