The change made in the Broadcasting Authority’s scheme fit perfectly with the anti-divorce campaign strategy to opt for professional advertisements being prepared by well known people in the broadcasting field, the Divorce Movement said.
The movement regretted that the BA 'succumbed to pressure' brought upon it by the anti-divorce movement and reduced the number of debates it originally proposed in its scheme for broadcasts during the referendum campaign, replacing this time with an increase in TV spots.
This enabled the anti-divorce movement not to debate the issue with people who couldexpose the
shortcomings of the stances it was adopting
The Divorce Movement said it has made its first official complaint to the BA in connection with 'the blatant imbalance' shown on PBS’s television news on Saturday evening.
The bullettin, it said, included an item on the discussion on divorce held by AZAD in the morning.
At the end of the item, an exponent from Zwieg Bla Divorzju was interviewed and answered questions on camera,
separately from the debate that took place while representatives of the Moviment IVA were ignored.
Moviment IVA insisted the BA should take steps to redress this imbalance and ensure that such abuses are not repeated.
