Atlas Healthcare, local agents for the worldwide AXA PPP healthcare provider, has launched a brand new service for Malta clients who need emergency hospitalisation after hours.

Clients who call the company after hours will be automatically directed to this service if they need hospitalisation after hours, although using this service will not of course be compulsory in cases of emergency. The service is designed to put member’s minds at rest as to what their level of cover will provide and the experienced staff member on call will be able to confirm whether treatment will be covered according to the member’s cover.

The company also offers members access to its international health and fitness newsletter following submission of member’s details (access to this newsletter can be confirmed through the Atlas website), the international Health at Hand 24/7 service which offers access to various clinics staffed by UK registered nurses, counsellors, midwives and pharmacists, and all international clients have access to AXA Assistance, a superior international assistance cover which includes international evacuation and repatriation where necessary.

Catherine Calleja, the company’s managing director, expressed her satisfaction in being able to provide this service. “We constantly remind members to preauthorise treatment to put their minds at rest as to the extent of cover especially before hospital treatment. Although in cases of emergency this is not always practicable, now AXA PPP healthcare clients can contact an experienced person who is equipped with the technology to help in such emergencies after hours” said Mrs. Calleja.
