Macedonia pianist Boban Mirkovski will performing a piano recital at Manoel Theatre on Wednesday at 8pm.

Mirkovski will perform the Toccata Op 7 in C-Major by R. Schumann,  Hungarian Rhapsody by F. Liszt,  piano works by leading Russian Composer Aram Khachaturian,  Serbez Donka, a piano piece based on traditional Macedonian folk combined with classical and jazz music by Macedonian composer D. Imeri and Piano Sonata by  Russian composer, Dmitri Shostakovich.

Mirkovski graduated from the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje in 2013. His tutor and mentor was the well-known Macedonian pianist Simon Trpceski. He completed his master studies in 2015.

Mirkovski has won multiple awards for his performances, including accolades at ArsKosova in Kosovo, Davorin Jenko in Serbia, Music & Earth in Bulgaria and the Klimentina Rafajlovka award for best young artist in Macedonia.

He attended master classes with well-known professors, including Zeni Zaharieva, Jokut Mihajlovic, Fulvio Turissini, Agathe Leimoni, Tomoka Kaishige and Boris Romanov.

Mirkovski currently works as a piano professor at SMBEC ‘Ilija Nikolovski – Luj’.
