A Melita advertisement for a sports package qualified as deceitful, the Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority said.

The authority said in a statement it requested the company to increase the font size of the last two sentences, which indicated the price for the new services, the date of expiry and the terms and conditions.

The company was also asked to specify that consumers would have to enter into a new agreement with Melita as well as renew their television services agreement, which was for a minimum of two years.

Unless Melita regulated itself, the authority reserved its right to take further action, it said.
