A group of 30 students and academics from Victoria University, Melbourne, recently concluded a three-week study tour of Malta.

During the visit the University renewed its exchange agreement with Victoria University, which has many students of Maltese descent.

Apart from attending lectures at the University on subjects ranging from immigration and asylum in Malta, to anthropology and sociology of law, the students also took part in cultural excursions to historic sites, museum visits, and socio-cultural activities.

The University's Institute of Maltese Studies also hosted a reception for the Australian students. One of the units of the institute's Master of Arts deals with Maltese emigration and migrant settlement, an area that interests Victoria University.
