Australia Hall has been transformed into a Christmas Gift all wrapped up with red ribbon - from Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to the Labour Party.

The building was wrapped up by the Moviment Zghazagh Partit Nazzjonalista in a symbolic act to reflect the government’s decision to stop a court case which the former administration had instituted against the Labour Party to recover Australia Hall from the party.

MZPN president Kevin Plumpton said during the activity, that this was a scandal as the government should have allowed the court to decide on the case.

As the activity was going on, Dr Muscat was driven by in his official car.

In a statement, the Labour Party said the ribbon was a symbol of the political vindictiveness of the previous government against the PL for partisan reasons.

The PL wished to put up a ribbon around the real scandals committed by the party now led by Dr Busuttil, including the BWSC power station scandal, the lack of administration at Mater Dei, the land given as compensation to Raymond Vella, the Good Causes Fund, the oil procurement scandal and the failed public transport reform, amonh others.

However, there was no ribbon big enough to put around all these scandals, it said.
