The auditor’s report has shown that the government had lost its sense of accountability on tax expenditure and did not know what the word responsibility meant, PL spokesman Helena Dalli said this morning.
She said in a statement that the Departmental Accounting System, implemented by the Treasury, was being ignored diluting the importance of this department as a consequence.
In his report for 2011, the Auditor General highlighted examples from Wasteserv to direct orders in several sectors. All showed growth in inefficiency and reflected the lack of credibility of GonziPN, Dr Dalli said.
