Labour Party activists whiled away at Naxxar counting hall this morning by exchanging Panini football stickers.

A 'sticker album' similar to that produced for the World Cup by Panini was rolled out by the PN in the last few days of the European Parliament election campaign.

Party activists are in for a quiet morning at the counting hall until noon, when the counting staff start turning the ballot papers face up and the first indications of the result emerge.

Activity overnight was restricted to the officials of the Electoral Commission wheeling the ballot boxes on trolleys to the desks, where they were emptied so that the ballot papers could be tallied with the number of people who voted.
