Air Malta was today forced to cancel its flights to London Heathrow and Gatwick because of an ash cloud over Britain and Northern Europe.

The flights had initially been postponed for several hours, but although the London airports have reopened, services are very limited.

The cloud also delayed a flight to Amsterdam.

Earlier today, EasyJet cancelled its services to Malta from Gatwick and Manchester and Ryaniar cancelled a flight from Dublin.
