An exhibition of paintings by primary and secondary school students was recently inaugurated by Children’s Commissioner Helen D’Amato at Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi.

The artwork, with the theme Dun Mikiel: il-Ħabib ta’ Kulhadd u Ilkoll Differenti, Ilkoll Indaqs, was submitted as part of a competition launched last February to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dun Mikiel Azzopardi, the home’s founder and first director.

A total of 262 paintings were submitted as part of the initiative, organised by the Curriculum Management and eLearning Department in collaboration with Dar tal-Providenza.

Participating schools included St Francis School in Cospicua, St Benedict College in Qrendi, Anton Buttigieg Primary School in Qala, St Francis School in Msida, De La Salla College in Cospicua and St Dorothy’s School in Sliema.

The exhibition will be open to the public on New Year’s Day at Dar tal-Providenza, during the marathon fund-raiser organised by Radio RTK.
