Arsenal proved they are far from a spent force in the Premier League today with a 2-1 win over champions Manchester United at the Emirates.
Samir Nasri was the hero for the Gunners, scoring in each half to send Arsene Wenger's side above United into third place.
The busy French midfielder, a big-money signing from Olympique Marseille in July, scored against the run of play after 23 minutes when his shot deflected in off Gary Neville and he thumped home a second two minutes after the interval.
Substitute Rafael volleyed a late reply for United but the home side hung on through six minutes of stoppage time.
