The 22nd meeting of the season at the Marsa Racetrack consisted of nine trotting events on the rather long 3,140 metres distance. The principal races on yesterday's card were one from the Premier Class and one from the Gold division.

Arnie Sensation, driven by Gozitan driver Julian Farrugia, took the honours in the top race. The winner jumped into the lead at the end of the first lap of the Premier race and held off the challenge of outsider Kamis De L'Eche in the final stages.

The much-fancied Joker De Choisel had to settle for third place.

Lucky Jack, under the reins of Herman McKay, went ahead after one lap and held on to the lead to win the Gold event. Lindsay Neve was second ahead of Larence Crown.

Yesterday's first Silver race ended in a win for James Carabott's Koko Loco after this trotter took the lead half-a-lap from the end.

Lutan Villetot, led by Charles Camilleri, registered a most convincing win after leading all the way in the second Silver race.

The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, starting at 2 p.m.
