Armenia will seek to collect six points in the two upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Denmark, the team’s midfielder, Marcos Pizzelli, said after training with the national squad.

Armenia face Malta on Friday and Denmark on June 11.

ArmeniaNow.com said any points lost in these matches would mean that Vardan Minasyan’s men wpuld also lose all chances of vying for a qualifying spot in Group B that also includes Italy, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.

“Armenia demonstrated great football two years ago. Now we often fail to show similar results. But we must train hard to get six points,” said Pizzelli.

Armenia newcomer Norayr Aslanyan was also optimistic. “Soccer is unpredictable, but we are stronger than Malta and have no right to lose,” said the 22-year-old striker, who also believes Armenia is also capable of beating Denmark.
