God became man to bless things that emerged from man’s sin, including suffering and death, Archbishop Paul Cremona said this afternoon.

Mgr Cremona, who was leading the Diocesan celebration of Christ the King at the Mosta parish church, said Jesus blessed suffering by experiencing it, so whoever went through suffering with Jesus was blessed.

He also had to experience death so that it could become a way that led to eternal life. Death has become a passage, and a means of resuscitation.

The Archbishop also called on those present not to follow the world’s logic, which could lead to revenge, but to serve other people.

President George Abela and his wife Margaret, Auxiliary Bishop Charles Scicluna and Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca were present for the celebration.
