Five Actavis employees – Odette Belizzi, Jeunesse Gafa, Maximillian Grech, Donatella Mizzi and Jeffrey Scicluna – successfully completed a Level 3 certificate course in applied laboratory science at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology.
The course offered the Actavis employees a strong grounding in fundamental science and technology principles, and an initial exposure to vocational science subjects found in health, environmental and engineering industries.
They were also provided training on the physical principles behind certain technologies, the science of different materials, and the principles concerning forces, speed, heat and energy.
During a ceremony held to present certificates to the employees, Actavis managing director Malta operations Patrick Cachia said: “The organisation of this training course forms part of the company’s commitment to engage its employees and provide them with opportunities to challenge themselves to improve their skills to meet stringent market requirements”.
Mr Cachia added that Actavis was committed to continue to provide training and development opportunities for all its employees. The company made the necessary arrangements for the employees’ training schedule to fit in with their working shift pattern. He also thanked the company’s HR team and Mcast for their dedication and energy to ensure the success of the initiative.
