Application forms for examina-tions to be held in May for entry into Form 1 in Church schools will be issued and accepted from Wednesday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and noon at any participating school.

Children sitting for the exams must have been born either in 1998 or 1999.

The participating schools in Malta are St Albert the Great (14 places), St Aloysius (10 places), St Augustine (85 places), St Dominic Savio (50 places), St Elias (47 places), St Michael (56 places), St Paul's Missionary (50 places), the Seminary (48 places); and in Gozo, the Bishop's Conservatory School - Girls (30 places), and Sacred Heart Seminary - Boys (50 places).

A limited number of places are reserved for students with grave humanitarian reasons to be admitted without the need to take the examiniation.

Parents submitting applications are to present their ID card, two photos of their child, the child's baptism and birth (Public Registry) certificates, and a €33 exam fee. The exams will be held in May.

Meanwhile, application forms for admission to Church school kindergarten classes and Year 1 in 2010 may be collected from the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana, from today to Wednesday, between 9 a.m. and noon, and from 3 to 5 p.m. Applications are to be submitted to the Curia's Secretariat for Catholic Education.

For entry to kindergarten 1, children must have been born in 2007; for entry to kindergarten 2 (Pregrade), in 2006; and to Year 1, in 2005.
