(Adds meeting with PL)

None of the 61 people who applied for a special spring hunting license had paid the €25 fee, as far as the FKNK< Hunting and Trapping Federation knew, it said today.

It said, in a statement, that even the government was now admitting that Malta won in the September 10 European Court Judgement.

So why was the victory not bearing fruit?

Why had the government not opened a decent and non-discriminatory season of at least three weeks as proposed by the Ornis Committee, the FKNK asked.

It said that with the proposals as drawn up by the FKNK for the application of a derogation in the correct manner, Malta would again win the case if taken to the European Court.

The FKNK met the Labour Party this morning during which the PL reiterated it agreed with a spring hunting season as proposed by the Ornis Committee.
