Two five-story apartment buildings collapsed in eastern Belgium, injuring at least 20 people. Rescue workers were looking for survivors through the rubble.

The apartments in the centre of the city of Liege came down after a loud explosion at around 2am today.

Mayor Willy Demeyer told VRT network that two people were critically injured, adding that firefighters were looking for those who are still inside.

The explosion in the heart of the city also damaged several other buildings, and Mr Demeyer warned that others might collapse too.
