The anti-divorce movement has welcomed a Constitutional Court decision confirming a Broadcasting Authority ban on TV spots of the Divorce Movement.

The spots had featured comments given by Cana Movement founder Mgr Charles Vella during a One TV interview.

The anti-divorce movement - Żwieġ Bla Divorzju - said the court sentence confirmed that the Divorce Movement had sought to deceive the people. It said that the Divorce Movement had abusively sought to paint Mgr Vella as being in favour of divorce. It had also tried to argue in court that its fundamental rights were breached when the Broadcasting Authority imposed its ban.

The anti-divorce movement noted that the court had declared that Mgr Vella's comments could not be considered supporting one movement against another and the Divorce Movement, therefore, could not use part of his comments, even if not doctored, in order to use it in its propaganda.

The movement said that on Saturday the people too should show they had not been deceived by the Divorce Movement.
