The government has launched another five schemes to assist the owners of small businesses in their investment and create more jobs.

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech launched the schemes this afternoon during a visit to Gutenberg Press.

The schemes will see the government allocating another €8.5 million for investment in Maltese companies through the European Regional Development Fund.

A total €35 million have already been given to 570 businesses for a total investment of €80 million.

The schemes launched this afternoon are for:

* Start-ups

* Innovation

* Research and Development

* Environment; and

* International competitiveness.
