The director of the Association of Singers, Composers, Artists and Musicians, Grace Borg, has sent an open letter to the Malta Song Board chairman again demanding publication of the votes for the semi-finalists of the Malta Song for Europe contest.
Last month, the Association filed a judicial protest asking the board to publish the scores within 24 hours but this was ignored, Ms Borg said.
The association claims the information being asked for is in the interest of singers and the board as this will increase transparency. As the board is a public entity, the information requested should be released, especially after all the hard work the singers and the authors put in.
In her letter to chairman Robert Abela, Ms Borg said she felt the failure to release the results of all the singers was a "dereliction of duty and may be viewed by some as a sign of weakness or arrogance".
The Malta Song Board has insisted that its actions and dealings have been transparent and responsible throughout.
In a statement last month it said it was disconcerted by the fact that a former board chairman, who during her tenure had followed the same procedures as the current ones, should call for the publication of the votes.
The selection procedure was announced in regulations published last September.
