BONELLO. On October 26, at Mater Dei Hospital, ROSE, widow of Anthony, aged 86, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved sons Alex and Ivan and his wife Rita, her grandchildren Edward and Margherita, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 8.30am at Birżebbuġa parish church, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
DEGUARA. On October 27 at Mater Dei Hospital, Charles of Naxxar, aged 75, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Caryn, his sons Joe and Andy, his grandson C.J, their wives, little Aurora, his brothers, sisters and their spouses Ċensina and Freddy, Ġuzi and Lorraine, Victor and Pennie, Leli and Janie, Mary and Salvatore, George, Martin and Jennifer, Anna and Johnny. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomrrow at 8am for Naxxar parish church, where Mass praesente cadevere will be celebrated at 8.45am followed by interment at Tal-Erwieħ Cemetery, Tarxien. MALLIA. On October 27, at his residence in Marsascala, FRANK of Siġġiewi, aged 59, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Sandra, his children Mark, Karl and Annemarie, his sister Catherine, wife of Ġużeppi Vassallo, his brother Peter and Mary Rose, widow of his brother Edward. Also, his parents-in-law Rose and Emanuel Ellul, his brother-in-law Mario and his wife Christine, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, October 30 at 9am for Marsascala parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.30am, followed by interment at Siġġiewi cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria, his sons Joe and his wife Carmen, David and his wife May, Philip and his wife Therese and Mark and his wife Julia, his daughter Mariosa and her husband Martin, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother and sisters, in-laws and their respective families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Tarxien cemetery. VELLA. On October 28, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, DODDY of Vittoriosa (Birgu), aged 85, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Maria and her husband James Souness, her sister Amy and her husband Charles Cacciatolo, her brother-in-law Fr Anġeliku Vella, OP, all other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow at 8am for the Annuciation church of St Domenic’s Convent, Vittoriosa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Bazaar
A bazaar is being held at the St Helen parish centre Birkirkara (behind the basilica) from Tuesday, November 3 to Wednesday, November 11. Opening hours will be daily between 9 and 12 noon and 4.30 to 7.30pm. Sunday morning only. Among items for sale will be antiques, collectibles, furniture, home grown pot plants and bric a brac.
Post-war Paola
The Paola Heritage Society will be holding a debate on Raħal Ġdid minn wara l-gwerra ‘l hawn (Post-war Paola) on Sunday at 10am.
