ASCIAK CHAPMAN. On May 14, MAUDIE, of Birkirkara, aged 88, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her cousins, in-laws, her devoted carer Miriam Spiteri, and many friends. Funeral Mass will be said today at 8.30am at St Francis church, Msida Street, Birkirkara, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BARBARA. On May 14, at St Paul’s home, Ħamrun, JOSEPHINE, née Ciancio, aged 86, of Ħamrun, wife of the late Anthony, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Margae and her husband Patrick Anastasi, Joseph and his wife Bernardette, Michael and Tano, her beloved grandchildren Janica, Kathleen and Giorgi, her sisters Yolanda, Lydia and Jane and her husband Frank Mizzi, her brother Louis, her in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves St Paul’s home tomorrow, Saturday, at 8.30am for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment in the family grave at Naxxar cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CATANIA. On May 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA, aged 63, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her father Ġużi, her sisters Manuela and her husband Malc, Anna, and Lucienne and her husband Sandro, her nephews and nieces Anita, Paula, Mark, GianLuca, Mark, Andrew and Lisa, her cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Monday, May 18 at 8.30am for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment in the grave of the San Franġisk Community – Ħamrun, at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GIUDICE. On May 14, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, MARY DORIS, known as Doris, née Rolè, widow of Gino Giudice, formerly of Sliema, aged 78, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved sons Francis and his wife Jane, née Grech, and Colin and his wife Cornelia, née Camilleri, her grandchildren Lara, Luca, Francesca and Beppe, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, at 8.30am for Jesus of Nazareth church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. It is appreciated that instead of flowers donations will be made to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi. The family thanks Noel Borg, nursing manager, and all the staff of Care Malta for their dedication conveyed at all times. Lord, grant unto her eternal rest and may she rest in peace. Amen.

TANTI. On May 15 at Mater Dei Hospital, Sr M. LAURA (Filippina) of the Sisters of Charity, aged 98, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity, her nephew George Caruana and his wife Carmen, her niece Doris and her husband John Cassar, other relatives and friends. She was the foundress of the St Jeanne Antide Welfare Campaign, presently known as St Jeanne Antide Foundation. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9am for the Sisters convent at 55, Birbal Street, Balzan, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.30am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Radio launch

The Radio Commission within Our Lady of the Lily Musical Society of Mqabba will be launching the thirteenth schedule of Mqabba’s Community Radio Station Tal-Gilju FM 95.4.

The station will officially kick-start June 12 at 4pm with a special inaugurative programme at the club’s premises.
