On March 31, in Bromley, England, to Maria Louise, née Matthews, daughter of Philip and Paula Matthews of Pettswood, England, and James Anthony, son of France and Donna Scicluna of St Julian’s, God’s precious gift of a son – JAMES PATRICK, greatly adored by his sister Ellena Donna Gina and the whole family. Currently enjoying his first visit to Malta.

Marriages

Dr ALAIN CAMILLERI, B.Sc. (Hons.), Ph.D and Ms JULIA WONITZKI, B.Sc.

The marriage took place on Saturday, June 1, at St Patrick’s church, Sliema, between ALAIN, son of Mr Adrian Edward and Mrs Rose Mary Camilleri of Swieqi, and JULIA, daughter of Mr Hans-Jörg and Mrs Gisela Wonitzki of Roth, Germany. Fr Savio Vella, SDB, celebrated nuptial Mass. Dr Richard Munton and Mrs Tanja Gregori witnessed the marriage. Mr Allan Frendo Jones carried out the duties of best man, while Mr Jan Bruhn was master of ceremonies. Ms Annina Munton was flower-girl and Master Andrin Munton was pageboy. A dinner-party was later held at the Reef Club, Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julian’s.

Obituaries

CAMILLERI. On May 20, at the Countess of Chester Hospital, Chester, UK, MARIE THÉRÈSE, née Asciak, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Jennifer and her husband Marioth Manché, Christopher and his wife Rita Ann, and Angèle and her husband Jonathan Hart, her grandson Andrew, her brother Wilfred and his wife Marion, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday at 2pm for the Nativity of the Virgin Mary parish church, Senglea, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm. The coffin will be accompanied by the cremated remains of her husband Joseph, who had passed away on September 29, 2006, followed by the interment of both at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord grant them eternal rest.

DARMANIN. On May 31, at St Vincent De Paul Residence, GLADYS, née Borg, of Ħamrun, aged 83, widow of Anthony, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Rosalie, Sylvana and her husband Mario Zarb, Antoinette and her husband Patrick Attard and Mario and his wife Charmaine, her beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Chris, Stephanie, Neil, Nicole and Kristina and their respective fiancés and fiancées, great-grandson Thomas, her brothers and her sister, in-laws, their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent De Paul Residence tomorrow at 8.15am for St Cajetan parish church in Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Special thanks go to all doctors and staff of Serenity Ward 2 at St Vincent De Paul Residence. Lord grant her eternal rest.

FABRI. On June 1, much-loved GIORGINA, aged 79, of Msida, residing in Birkirkara, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Walter Fabri and his wife Esther, her sister Josephine Montebello, widow of Romeo, her sister Jayne Agius and her husband Emmanuel, her sister Antoinette Attard and her husband John, Maurine, widow of her brother Paul, her nephews and nieces, their children, family and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow at 8.30am at St Joseph the Worker parish church, Birkirkara, followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Ward 3 at St Vincent de Paul Residence, Luqa. Lord, grant her eternal rest. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Dementia Society would be appreciated.
