VASSALLO. To Maxine née Griffiths and Michael, a beautiful daughter – SOPHIE ISABELLA, a most welcome sister to Oliver and Evie. She was born on May 1, 2012, at St Mary’s Hospital in Poole, UK.

BORG. On May 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, GEORGE, of Floriana, aged 86, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria Dolores, his children Rita and John, Emanuel and his wife Mary Rose, Maryanne and her husband Saviour, Josephine and her husband Raymond, Charles and his wife Doreen, his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.45pm for St Peter’s parish church, Birżebbuġa where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be appreciated. 

CUSCHIERI. On May 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, Gillian (Jill) née Skrimshire, passed peacefully away, leaving to mourn her great loss her husband Denis, her children Elise and her fiancé Ian Russell, Matthew and his wife Lorraine, and Thomas and his partner Claire Kenward, her grandchildren Peter and Emma, her brother Tony and his wife Margaret and her many relatives and friends in Malta and abroad. A funeral service will be held tomorrow at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery chapel at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to Unicef children’s charity would be greatly appreciated.

DEGIORGIO. On April 26, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, PAULINE of Valletta, aged 83, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nephews and nieces, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre tomorrow at 8am for St Dominic’s parish church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

FALZON. On May 4, at Villa Messina, Rabat, SALVINA of Birkirkara, aged 97, passed peacefully away comforted by the rights of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nephew Joe Falzon and his wife Carmen, her nieces Helen and her husband Reno Sammut, Carmen widow of Anthony Borg Cardona, Victor widower of Mary Sciberras and Josephine Falzon, their families including Can. Fr Simon Sciberras, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina tomorrow at 8.15am for St Helen’s Basilica, Birkirkara where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family thanks the doctors, management and staff at Villa Messina for their care and dedication. GRIMA. On May 3, VICTORIA née Galea of St Paul’s Bay, aged 97, widow of Saviour, passed away peacefully at her residence comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Doris, Paul, Tessie and her husband Saviour Xuereb, Charlie and his wife Doris, Bertu and his wife Doris, Carmen widow of her son Anthony, Joe and his wife Rose, Mary widow of Philip Agius, Phyllis and her husband Mario Gauci, Martin and his wife Marthese, Raymond and his wife Rita, her sister Margaret and her husband Joe Gauci of Canada, her grandchildren among whom Fr Savior Grima, OSA, their spouses, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, May 7, at 7.15am for Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul’s Bay, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8am, followed by interment at Ħniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul’s Bay. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.
