ATTARD MONTALTO. On April 14, RENO, aged 84, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife Madeleine, his children Nicholas and his wife Linda, Lawrence and his wife Liz and Bunty and her husband Anton, his brothers Paul and his wife Lydia and Austin and his wife Marlene, Marie, widow of his brother Philip, all his wonderful grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends. Mass will be celebrated today at 2pm at Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul’s Bay, followed by interment in the family chapel at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Renal Unit, Mater Dei Hospital, will be appreciated. I am the resurrection and the life.
SPITERI. On April 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEN, née Cefai, of Vittoriosa, residing at Marsa-scala, widow of Paul, aged 93, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss Barbara, widow of her son Lawrence, Miriam and her husband Alfred, Petronella and her husband Tony, Gemma and her husband Carmelo and Carmen and her husband Reno, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sisters Polly Cilia and Rose Bonello, her brother Edgar Cefai, in-laws and their families, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2pm for Fgura parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Vittoriosa cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
VELLA. On April 15, at Casa Leone XIII, St Julian’s, CARMEL of Sliema, passed away peacefully at the venerable age of 100, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Maria Dolores (Dolly), née Farrugia, his brother Dr Albert Vella, MD and his wife Carmen, residing in Australia, his sisters Carmelina Sciberras and Imelda Micallef, his brother-in-law Joe and his wife Lynette Farrugia, his numerous nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday at 1.30pm for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Joseph Home, St Venera, will be appreciated. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff of Casa Leone for their care and dedication.
