MANGION. To Elizabeth, née Caruana Galizia and Michael, a lovely daughter – ZOË, a sister to Sebastian and welcomed by family and friends. She was born on April 5 at St Mary’s Hospital in London.

MUSCAT. On January 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Greta née Pace Bonello and Matthew, God’s precious gift of a son – ALEC, a most welcome brother to Kalean. Deo gratias et Mariæ.

XUEREB. On April 9, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, to Greta née Borg Carbott and Konrad, God’s precious gift of a first-born daughter – SOPHIE.

Obituaries

CASSAR. GIAELE (YOLE), aged 89, was called by the Lord to Heaven from Mater Dei Hospital on April 13, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreplaceable loss her sisters Josephine, Prassede, her brothers Lawrence, Misael and his wife Valerie, Paul and his wife Josephine, Mary Grace, widow of Guido, her brother, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for the Carmelite church, Mdina, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Pontifical Missions Office, Merchants Street, Valletta, will be appreciated. God, grant her eternal rest.

BARTOLO. On April 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALBERTA MARIA, known as Bettie, of Kalkara and residing in Senglea, aged 68, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Carmelo, her children Sonia and her husband Alex, Charlot and his wife Karen, grandchildren Adrian, Alvin, Alison, Leona, Leanne and Jade, her sisters, in-laws, their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2pm for Our Lady of Victory basilica, Senglea, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. BORG. On April 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, Mgr INNOCENZO, of Luqa, aged 91, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his nephews Anton and his wife Rosalie Cassar, Joseph and his wife Joanne Cassar, Patrick and his wife Liliana Cassar, Phyllis and her husband Edmond Bartolo, Raphael and his wife Oriana Borg Ellul Vincenti, his brother’s widow Lilian Borg Ellul Vincenti, cousins, other relatives and friends, including Richard and Lucia Massa. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 8.30am for the Kappella tal-Ftajjar, Luqa, from where the cortege departs for Luqa parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Luqa cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Kleru, Bir­kirkara, and Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family regrets it is unable to receive visitors. PORTELLI. On April 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, RITA, née Attard, widow of Gino, aged 94, residing in Sliema, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her dearly beloved children Mona and her husband Austin Camilleri, Tony and his wife Carmen, Mario and his wife Sandra, Victor, widower of her daughter Carmen, her grandchildren Mariella, Silvana, Daniela, Gordon, Clyde, Alexia, Johann, Diane and Caren, her great-grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral will leave Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 9am for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to charitable institutions will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ROSSIGNAUD. On April 13, NORMAN, aged 68, passed peacefully away at Mater Dei Hospital. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Margaret, his children Yvette and Claude and their spouses, his grandchildren André and Adèle, his brothers, family and friends. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Many thanks to the management and staff at Mater Dei Hospital, especially the ITU and NSW, for their dedicated attention and care.
