BONNICI. On November 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Fleur née Mizzi and Robert, God’s precious gift of a daughter – LEAH, a most welcome sister to Jade. Thanks be to God.

PELLICANO. Mandy and Joseph announce the birth of their daughter – KRISTIE, a welcome sister to Matthias and Milena, born on January 9. Special thanks go to our family and friends and the maternity staff at Mater Dei Hospital for their dedication and care.

Obituaries

FRENDO. On January 14, surrounded by her loving family, KAZIMIERA JANINA, née Bialowas, widow of Anthony Frendo, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church, aged 93. Born in Ihrowice, Tarnopol, Poland, and residing in Toronto, Canada. She will be profoundly missed by her daughters Kristyna and her husband Robert Orsi, Teresa Frendo and Annette and her husband David Mocek, her grandchildren Eva and Emily Mocek, her brother Jan Bialowas and his wife Mary, her sister Czeslawa Marut of Poland. Kaziemiera was also sister of the late Tadeusz Bialowas. She also leaves to mourn her loss her sisters-in-law, Doris Frendo and Stella Gomersall, her brother-in-law Alfred Frendo and his wife Margaret, and her numerous relatives and friends in Malta and abroad. The funeral Mass took place on January 19 at St Leo’s Catholic church, 277, Royal York Road. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca. Rest in peace.

MIGNECO. On January 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, FRANK CHARLES, of Balzan, aged 89, passed peacefully away surrounded by all his children and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Aurea née Borg, his children Anthony and his wife Marcelle, Josette and her husband Silvio Loporto, Marion, Therese and her partner David and Godwin and his wife Beatrice, his beloved grandchildren and great-grand children, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Eden Foundation will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.

RUFFINI. On January 7, OSCAR of California, aged 85. He leaves to mourn his loss his son Robert and his wife Roseann, his sisters Yolanda and Olivia, his brother Oswald and his wife Tessie, his grandchildren Joe, Patsy and Tony, other relatives and friends. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

RYAN – BETTY, passed away peacefully on Sunday. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Diane, Paul, Anne, and Sally. Betty and her late husband, Dr Trevor Ryan, spent over 25 years of their lives in Malta where they made many friends. The family, in this sad time wish to thank all of Trevor and Betty’s numerous friends whose kindness brought them years of happiness in Malta. The funeral of Betty is to take place tomorrow in the UK.

VELLA. On January 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, Melita née Vassallo, aged 97, widow of Joseph, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Mgr Anthony Vella, Archpriest of Mdina Cathedral, Alfred, Rose, Lina, Joe and Martin, and their respective wives and husbands, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.15pm for Mdina Cathedral where Eucharistic Concelebration praesente cadavere will be held at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

AQUILINA – SIMONE. Treasured memories of a beloved mother and grandmother on the fourth anni­versary of her demise. Always loved and forever missed by her children Lee, Gail and families.

BARTOLO PARNIS – ANTHONY. Treasured and unfading memories of a dear husband, father and grandfather on the first anniversary of his demise. Sadly missed by his wife Patricia, his children Joanna and Paul, George and Silvana, Anthony and Greta and grandchildren.
