AGIUS. On April 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO of Żabbar, residing in Vittoriosa, aged 73, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Joyce, his children Antoine, Ivan and his wife Charmaine, George (MUSEUM member), and Lorraine and her husband Tony Cachia, his grandchildren Dejan, Hayden, Elisa and Jade, his brother and sister, Joseph and his wife Mikelina and Giovanna and her husband Alfred German, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. BROWNRIGG. On April 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, GEORGE, aged 59, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Christine, née Ellul Castaldi, his sons Andrew, Mark and John and their girlfriends Rachel, Pippa and Mara, his sister Jayne and her husband Antoine Torpiano, his brother Robert, his brother-in-law Jean Pierre and his wife Carmen, his nieces Francesca, Tara, Martina, Debbie, Daniela and his nephew Jimmy, his aunt Lily, his cousins Philip and Tita, relatives and friends. On April 6, at Dar tal-Kleru, Fleur-de-Lys, Birkirkara, Mgr PAUL CARUANA of Naxxar, ex-parish priest of Dingli parish and ex-archpriest of Naxxar parish, aged 74, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters, Kelinu and his wife Doris, Rose, Tessie, Imelda and her husband George, Katie and her husband Freddy and Vivienne and her husband France, nephews, nieces and their families, other relatives and friends, amongst whom priests and staff at Dar tal-Kleru. The funeral leaves Dar tal-Kleru today at 2 p.m. for Naxxar parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Naxxar cemetery. DIMECH. On April 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALEX, IT Lecturer at St Martin’s Institute of IT, aged 56, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Doris, née Galea, his son Reuben and his daughter Abigail, his mother Polly, his parents-in-law Antonio and Katarina Galea, his brothers and sisters, Sammy and Julie, Edith and Armando Caruana, Daniel and Rita, Emily and Mario Aquilina, Andrew and Natalie, Simon and Catherine, Sonya and Maurice Farrugia and Nadia and Mario Zampa, his sisters-in-law Maryrose and Michael and Carmen and Mario, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. for Mosta parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. SULTANA. On April 7, ANNIE, aged 70, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will be missed by her sister-in-law Mary Rose, her nephews James and his wife Shirley, Walter and his wife Lorna other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be said at St Paul Shipreck church, Valletta, today at 2.15 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

EUPA meetings

The European Union Programmes Agency will hold a series of information meetings in preparation for the Malta Lifelong Learning Programme Call 2011.

The Leonardo Da Vinci Mobility (IVT, PLM, VETPRO) meeting will be held on Monday between 2 and 4 p.m., the Erasmus Intensive Language Courses and Intensive Programmes meeting follows on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m., the Grundtvig In-Service Training and Visits & Exchanges meeting takes place on Wednesday between 2 and 4 p.m., and the Comenius In-Service Training will be held on Friday between 9 and 11 a.m.

The meetings will be held at Kumpless Aċċess, 72, Melita Street, Valletta.

A general information meeting will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Gozo College, Boys Secondary, Europe Street, Victoria. This will be followed by 15-minute one-to-one sessions by appointment between noon and 1 p.m.

ESU talk

The Irish Ambassador to Malta, Jim Hennessy, will give a talk on Ethnic, Cultural And Linguistic Pluralism In An English-Speaking Nation at St James Cavalier, Valletta on Thursday at 6 p.m. The event is organised by the English-Speaking Union of Malta.
