ATTARD. On March 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, former coach of the national football team and former teacher, from Floriana but residing in Marsascala, passed away peacefully, aged 77, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Edwien and wife Susan, Alex and wife Christine, Ian and wife Sonia, Patricia and husband Michael, his brothers and in-laws and their families, grandchildren Kurt, Monique, Laura, Rebecca, Claire and Mark. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m. to St Anne parish church, Marsascala, where Mass praesente cadavere will be held at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. BALDACCHINO. On March 27, ERNEST of Attard, aged 85, husband of the late Mary neé Gatt, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Herman, Hubert and his wife Josette, and Helga, his beloved grandchildren Lara and her fiancé Marvic, Nathan and Noah, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karen Grech Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for Attard parish church where mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by internment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. BONNICI. On March 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, ĊENSINA of Valletta, aged 81, member of the MUSEUM society – St Paul’s Shipwreck, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Sr Carmen of the Carmelite Order, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday for Our Lady of Mount Carmel basilica in Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. GILFORD. On March 26, at Mater Dei Hospital, ROSE née Aquilina, widow of Spiridione, of Cospicua, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmen and her husband Walter Tonna, Louise and her husband Joe Mizzi, Maria and her husband Michael Cassar, grandchildren Mariella, Matthew, Michelle, David and Audrey, her brothers Anthony and Francis Saviour, her sisters Cettina Aquilina and Tessie Bugeja, their respective spouses, all their respective families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital, today at 2 p.m. for Our Lady of the Immaculate Con­ception collegiate church in Cospicua, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Tomorrow being the 24th anniversary of the death of MARIKA NAUDI, née Hili, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be said tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception parish church, Tal-Ibraġ, St Andrew’s. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

Japan donations appeal

The Civil Protection Department is collecting funds for the victims of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan.
