Obituary

AQUILINA. On March 8, MAURICE, aged 84, from Żebbuġ, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He is mourned by his son Charlie and his wife Marija, and his daughter Antoinette and her husband Manwel, his grandchildren Marbert and his fiancée Alexia, and Nadine, Christine and her husband Arnold, his great-grandchildren Daniel, Annalise, Isaac, Joseph, Charmaine and Alex, his brothers and sisters Joe and his wife Jessie, Tessie and her husband Johnny, Polly, Mary and her husband Joe and Doris and her husband David, and their children, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for St Philip parish church, Żebbuġ, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Żebbuġ. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family thanks the staff at Saura Home, Rabat and at Ward M3 at Mater Dei Hospital for their care and dedication. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BUTTIGIEG. On March 8, at his residence in Qawra, ALBERT of Ħamrun, aged 54, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his father Emmanuel, his brothers Anthony, Edgar, Joseph, Michael, Raymond and Mario, their spouses, nephews and nieces, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. GALEA. ERIC from Swieqi, suddenly on March 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, aged 67, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his wife Georgette, née Cassar, his son Paul and wife Anne, his grandson Max, his mother Mary, his sister Evelyn and Raymond, his in-laws Margaret and Joe Azzopardi, Mary Schembri, Carmelina Cassar, Bernadette and Robert Le Mare, Doris Camilleri, Irene and Lino Cutajar, Jane Cassar, and all his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for Mary Immaculate Conception church, Tal-Ibraġ where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. ZARB COUSIN - Joseph LLD, BA. On March 10 at Mater Dei Hospital, aged 83. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Lilian (née Agius-Gilibert), his dear children Christopher, Audrey and her husband Salvo, his dearest grandchildren Pamela and her partner Nunzio, Giampiero and his wife Sarah and Sabrina, his great grandsons Luca and Diego, his brother Eddie and his sister Theresa, his in-laws Margaret, widow of his brother Wilfred, Gladys Agius- Gilibert, Lina and her husband Charles Thake, Marionne Aquilina and Heidi Agius-Gilibert, nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Tal-Ibraġ parish church where mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Annual General Meeting

The annual general meeting of the National Council for the Elderly is being held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Europe House, 254, St Paul’s Street, Valletta. The elderly are encouraged to attend.

Prayer meeting

A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held tomorrow at St Joseph the Worker parish church, Birkirkara. It starts at 9.45 p.m. with Mass followed by adoration until midnight.

Personal temperament

Fr Alfred Micallef will this weekend lead a seminar dealing with how an individual’s personal temperament in-fluences his/her relationship with other people and with God.

Knowing a person’s tem-perament helps them under-stand the type of work they are most suitable for, it helps them solve difficulties they may have in their relationships and helps them find the most suitable type of prayer for their character.

The seminar, being held at Manresa retreat house, Victoria, starts tomorrow at 9 a.m. and ends on Sunday after lunch.

There will also be exercises to put the theory into practice.

There will be power cuts tomorrow between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. San Kerrew Square, and Salvu Attard, Anton Buttigieg, Ħondoq ir-Rummien, Ta’ Kassja, Nigret, Adeodata Pisani, Tas-Salib, Santa Marija tal-Qala, Ġanni Vella, Virgi, Barbaġann and Immaculate Conception streets and surrounding areas in Qala.

Rosary chain

A rosary chain will be held at Borġ in-Nadur Hill, Birżebbuġa on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The rosary will be recited every half-hour and the intention will be for Malta to be safeguarded against the introduction of divorce.

Fun walk

A fun walk to mark World Kidney Day will take place on Sunday at 9.30 a.m. It will start at the Independence monument in Floriana and end at the Sliema Ferries. Donations will go to the Mater Dei Hospital Renal Unit.
