Episcopal ordination

A celebration will be held on Sunday at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta to mark the ordination of Maltese Franciscan Mgr Joseph Bonello OFM of Rabat as bishop of the diocese of Honduras.

At 5.30 p.m., the L-Isle Adam Band of Rabat and the Sliema Band will march from Republic Street to St John’s Cathedral in Valletta where Mass will be said at 6.30 p.m.

Tai Chi lessons

Russian scientist and teacher Elena Yasnetskaya is conducting a 10-week course in Tai Chi Chuan at the premises of the Malta China Friendship Society in St Christopher Street, Valletta.

Joint concert

The Spanish choir Garoé will perform in a joint concert with The New Choral Singers at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall, Valley Road, Birkirkara on March 5 at 7.30 p.m. The hall is situated close to the sanctuary dedicated to St Therese.

Pro-life celebration

The monthly Pro-Life Celebration will be held at St Dominic church, in Rabat on Sunday at 5 p.m.

The celebration starts with Holy Rosary followed by Mass with special prayers offered for newborns, adolescents and parents. There will also be adoration and a presentation of newborns to Our Lady of the Grotto.

Everyone is invited to attend especially expectant mothers, parents of newborns, parents who have lost a child, pro-life activists and those planning to start a family.

The celebration is held on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Silent retreat
