AZZOPARDI. On December 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, IMELDE, of the Sisters of Charity, aged 76, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity, her sister Carmen and her husband Anthony, nieces, other relatives and friends. The cortège will leave the hospital today at 7.45 a.m. for the parish church of Birżebbuġa where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. BALDACCHINO. On December 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 51, of Żurrieq and residing at Attard, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Sally, his children Dorothy, Janice and her husband Joseph, Maurizio, Maryliz and Michele, his granddaughter Racquela, his parents Maria and Alfred, his sister Doris and brothers Michael and Emmanuel and his wife Grace, other relatives and friends. Late SEC examinations registration
The Director of Examinations has issued a final call for candidates who failed to register for the Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) examinations.
The Department of Examinations will be receiving late applications between January 5 and 7.
Candidates in Malta can submit their application at the Examinations Department in Floriana while those in Gozo can do so at the Examinations Centre in Victoria.
Apart from the regular charges, an additional fee of €46.59 has to be paid for each application.
Sino-Maltese relations
Chinese Ambassador Zhang Keyuan will be guest of honour at an Asian buffet dinner the Malta-China Friendship Society will hold on January 15 at the Hotel Excelsior.
The event will be held to mark the 39th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malta and China on January 31, 1972.
